If you are looking for a spring assisted knife at a great price, look no further. The new Black Ops series, or the SWBLOP2 series, by Smith & Wesson is one of the best, basic spring assisted knives I have ever used. Made with a open frame handle, the handle is made of a composite, this knife is very light which makes it great for every day carry. It has a removable clip that allows you to carry the knife quite deep in your pocket. The blade comes sharp right out of the box, and the 4034 stainless steel it is made of keeps its edge well. With heavy use, you will probably only have to sharpen once a month or so. With light use, maybe once a year. The blade opens easily. There are ambidextrous thumb studs–but don’t get fooled if you are a lefty, the safety is placed for a right handed user. You could probably adapt. Once open, the blade stays open. It is a liner lock knife and works great. The safety is simple and effective at keeping the blade closed when you want it that way. Overall, this is one great spring assisted knife. The SWBLOP2BS has a part serrated blade, which is great if you like some serrations.
